We have different tariff system of online PC games Europe and Korea.
In Korea, if you want to play PC online game, you need to pay for playing game monthly. (some of them are not necessary)
Here is tariff system of TERA in Korea. There are 8types of payment plan. In Korea, there is role you can't pay for online game over than some money(It was around 100,000 won some years ago).
1. Welcome 30 days, first recharge user = 19,800 won
--> in this case, you will get portal point(T-cat 100)
2. Welcome 90 days, first recharge user = 47,500 won
--> in this case, you will get portal point(T-cat 300)
3. 30 days, recharge automatically = 19,800 won
--> in this case, you will get portal point(T-cat 100)
4. 90 days, recharge automatically = 47,500 won
--> in this case, you will get portal point(T-cat 300)
5. 90 days normal = 47,500 won
6. 30 hours = 15,000 won
7. 3 hours = 3,000 won
8. 30 days normal = 19,800 won
--> in this case, you will get portal point(T-cat 100)
Is it strange to you? but it is normal for me. From a few years ago in Korea, some games(let me say, if game is not enough strong in market, or quite old), they try to change revenue from P2P to F2P and sell cash items.
What do you think about F2P and Cash item? some of games are keeping well fair play balancing, but some of games, they are selling EXP boost and all potion(more strong) as cash item. I don't like this kind of revenue model. It is not really game. I think it is realy life. If you have enough money or can steal parent money, you can play well and easy, if you don't want to spend money for gaming, you need spend much more time to be strong as paid users.
In near future, they understand user well and figure out what we need. They will bring really good revenue model. hope so.
I am not sure, how they, publishing company and game developer, have been innovating for TERA. But hope bring it well and let me enjoy it purely.
have a good week-end.
